PPP Subsidy 2025 – apply, benefit and be in charge

,

A month ago, hollandbio hosted a webinar to discuss the opportunities for companies about the private public partnerships (PPP) subsidy call 2025 directed by Health~Holland. The changes for next year’s subsidy application provide both opportunities and challenges for companies.

Opportunities for companies

This subsidy has a budget of €40 million and allows any two Dutch entities (yes, companies as well) to set-up a program that is supportive to the missions of the Knowledge and Innovation agenda (KIA), the National Technology Strategy (NTS) and contributes to the Growth Markets program for future economic earning capacity.

Secondly as of 2024, SME-companies can claim a larger portion of the subsidy budget, up to 60% of your own project costs and the minimal contribution can be fully in kind.

Challenges to companies

Challenges lie mostly in the execution of the program. When you submit a program, you have to find additional financial and operational capacity to run it, to review and approve projects, to communicate about your program and make sure all projects are committed in time.

Next is the deadline to submit an application, November 1st, so there are only 10 weeks left. Setting up new collaborations might prove to be a challenge if you want full commitment from all parties.

Above practicalities can still be managed, but any company has to take into account that being part of a program consortium might mean that your competitor can submit a project within your program, and you can submit your own projects to your own program.

At hollandbio we strive to direct a larger piece of the PPP-pie to biotech companies, so the subsidy can be used to accelerate innovations to the market. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us and if you are submitting a proposal, we would love to hear from you. Contact hollandbio’s Dora.
