Consortium receives grant of €77.7 million for identifying existing compounds that can be repurposed for use against COVID-19

A consortium of 37 renowned academic institutions, research organisations and biopharmaceutical companies will receive a grant of €77.7 million via the Innovative Medicines Initiative. The consortium will screen libraries to identify existing compounds that can be repurposed for use against COVID-19 and perform in silico screening to find new small molecules against SARS-CoV-2 and similar disease.
