A fruitful EFIB 2021 for the Dutch industrial biotech community

Last week over 350 attendees from all over the world gathered in Vienna for the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology & the Bioeconomy (EFIB). The conference welcomed over 30 Dutch biotech entrepreneurs.  

This year’s edition of the premium partnering conference, HollandBIO, together with topsector ChemistryNL, made sure to give the Netherlands a prominent presence. Prior to the conference, we got the pleasure of bringing together the Dutch delegation and the Dutch embassy for drinks near the beautiful Danube river. During the conference, a striking NL booth served as a central information point for international visitors to show what the Netherlands has to offer:  as a place to do business, as an innovative business partner, as a top location for talent. The booth also served as a living room for Dutch attendees. Before or after a partnering meeting, visitors gladly came by to chat with their compatriots while enjoying a good cup of coffee & Dutch treats. 

EFIB 2021 hosted inspiring keynote speakers  and a large start-up village where start-ups had the opportunity to deliver a 5-minute pitch.  
 

Everybody clearly enjoyed being at a live event again, meeting each other face to face, listening to interesting speakers, networking and creating possible fruitful partnerships. We hope to see you all again next year in Vilnius, Lithuania!
