It’s high time again for the hollandbio Year Event – the number one gathering in The Netherlands aimed at celebrating the power and potential of biotech and thanking our members and partners that are a part of this thriving ecosystem. This year is a special edition during which we will celebrate our tenth anniversary!
Join us on January 25th at Theater Diligentia in The Hague, where we combine inspiring keynotes demonstrating how biotech makes life better, with a healthy dose of humor and plenty of opportunity for networking!

Speakers
Arjen Lemmen, Vice President Corporate Development & Strategy at argenx
Arjen Lemmen joined argenx in 2016 and has served as vice president of corporate development & strategy since 2019. He has successfully executed several transactions including a number of programs within the IIP. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Lemmen served as a corporate finance specialist at Kempen & Co NV focusing on mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and strategic advisory transactions in the European life sciences industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in life science & technology from the University of Groningen and a Master of engineering management from Duke University.
Elise de Reus, Co-Founder at Cradle
As co-founder of Cradle, Elise is motivated by the belief that industrial biotechnology holds enormous potential to produce essential products at lower environmental impact. Elise previously worked at Zymergen to develop high-throughput workflows for rapidly generating improved microbial strains, and contributed to strain engineering for microbial production of dairy protein at Perfect Day Foods. She holds an MSc in Life Science & Technology from TU Delft and grew quite fond of fungi during a PhD in fungal synthetic biology at the Technical University of Denmark.
Jalila Essaïdi, artist and entrepreneur
Jalila Essaïdi (born 1980) is a Dutch artist and entrepreneur based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. She is specialized in the fields of bio-based materials and biological arts (bio-art). Her projects have won numerous awards and have been covered by international media. She founded BioArt Laboratories in 2011, a foundation that offers entrepreneurs and citizen scientists access to a biotech laboratory and the tools and knowledge of cross-sectorial collaborations between the life sciences and the creative industry.
