Over het event
Biotech maakt het leven beter. Onderzoekers en ondernemers halen inspiratie uit de natuur om innovaties van levensbelang voor consument en patiënt te ontwikkelen. De route van excellente biotech kennis naar impactvolle biotech producten is complex, kostbaar en uitdagend. Nederland beschikt over een excellente kennispositie, maar nog te vaak blijft die kennis onbenut op de plank liggen. En dat is zonde, want biotech biedt, in potentie, de oplossing voor problemen op het gebied van duurzaamheid en gezondheid.

Om die kennis te verzilveren, is het van groot belang dat die kennis wordt doorontwikkeld. Pas dan kan de maatschappij de vruchten plukken van deze kennis. Om de volle potentie van biotech te benutten, is het van belang dit proces goed te stroomlijnen.

Tijdens dit event verschillende best-practices, uit binnen- en buitenland, over hoe we meer met Nederlandse topkennis kunnen doen. De best-practices worden uitgelicht op basis van 4 verschillende thema’s:

• Ondernemerschap
• Knowledge transfer
• Financiering die aansluit op financieringsbehoefte
• Ondersteuning en begeleiding van startups

Eppo Bruins (nieuwe AWTI-voorzitter), Carla Snoeck (Manager New Ventures van het Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie), Daan Luining, (Founder en CSO van Meatable), Fiona MacLaughlin (Sr. Director Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC), Bram Ledeboer (Partner bij SHIFT Invest), Stine Kruse (Technical University of Denmark) en Johanna Michielin (Head of BioLabs France) zijn bevestigd als sprekers.

Vervolgens zal een panel tijdens de rondetafel reflecteren op de verschillende thema’s. Het panel bestaat uit Pim van Strien (Tweede Kamerlid VVD, ministerie EZK), Rinke Zonneveld (Algemeen directeur van InnovationQuarter), Corina Prent (Directeur RUG Ventures) en Lisanne Blauw (Investment Analyst bij Thuja Capital).

Een inspirerende middag om van Nederland niet alleen koploper in biotech kennis, maar ook in biotech bedrijvigheid en producten te maken!

HollandBIO organiseert dit event samen met de ervaren innovatie-experts van Planet B.io en Johnson & Johnson Innovation.

About the event
Biotech innovations contribute to health and sustainability for consumers and patients in society as well as economic growth. Turning excellent biotech science into useable biotech innovation is a complex, expensive and challenging process. The Netherlands has excellent research and knowledge, but too often this knowledge is utilized in new inventions, this way a lot of potential is lost.It is important to further develop this knowledge into potential innovations that will contribute to health, sustainability and economic growth. In this way we maximize the impact of that knowledge. It is important to streamline this process to unlock the full potential of biotech.

This event highlights best-practices to bring ideas faster and better from bench to business. The following four different topics will be covered during the program:

• Entrepreneurship
• Knowledge transfer
• Financing for startups
• Support for startups

Seasoned national and international experts will inspire us on how to boost biotech innovation in the Netherlands.

A panel will reflect on the different topics during the round table.
