Biotech Wednesday – Going for the cure
Hollandbio10/05/23
During HollandBIO’s Biotech Wednesday: Going for the cure we place the spotlight on one of the greatest innovations of the past years: curative therapies.
Thanks to these revolutionary new treatment options, like cell and gene therapies, or individual RNA-therapies, the promise of biotech is slowly becoming a reality. We no longer aim to treat symptoms, but we can address diseases at the source with one single treatment. But the road from bench to bedside can be long and bumpy: as often, the frontrunners reach the limits of the current system first. Therefore, within academia, industry and hospitals many people are working hard to find solutions to unlock the full potential of these treatments to achieve personalised health.
During the event, three speakers will share their experiences and vision from their own perspectives, after which there will be ample room for further discussion and networking during the drinks.
Speakers
- Denis Peeters, Country Lead Netherlands, Sanofi
- Marlen Lauffer, Senior researcher, DCRT
- Melvin Evers, VP of Research, uniQure
