Lori Goff | Founder & CEO of Outlander Materials
Feeling responsible to build a more sustainable world, Lori founded Outlander Materials to address resource & material waste. She studied biotechnology at the University of Nebraska-Omaha in the United States. She’s worked with transforming waste streams into biofuels, advised SMEs with biotech, fermentation, and processes design with systems thinking. While brewing beer at home she hit upon the idea of UnPlastic [a functional, fully compostable, and completely non-plastic alternative for thin-film plastic] and since then has been on a quest to create better and non-plastic alternatives to single-use packaging. Awarded Inspiring Fifty Benelux Top 50 Women in Deep tech and Outlander recently named Hello Tomorrow’s Deep Tech Pioneers, Lori is working to bridge the Communication & Funding gap in biotech & material science and funding access.
Lori has also been featured in international media including PBS Documentary “The Plastic Problem”, articles including Het Financieele Dagblad, QUOTE, Tech Trends, ASNBanks GoedGeld, Verpakkings Management, Kind Earth Tech keynote speaker, and Business For Good Podcast with Paul Shapiro.
