Event on kidney donation and highly sensitized patients

Van derden

15/04/25

Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC) and the Embassy of Sweden to the Netherlands are pleased to invite you to the scientific event on kidney donation and highly sensitized patients on 15 April 2025 in the LUMC.

LUMC collaborates with Lund University in Sweden, both hospitals with extensive experience in kidney transplantations. This field is still facing many challenges, including the high unmet medical need of highly sensitized patients for receiving a donor kidney. This event aims to raise more awareness of these challenges and focus on specific new developments.

During this event experts from LUMC and Erasmus MC will further elaborate on the topic. Specific attention will be given to the patients’ perspective, having patients tell their story and their patient journey. Next to that, recent innovations in the field of organ transplantation will be highlighted, and during a panel discussion, the audience can ask questions. The event will be moderated by Tom van ’t Hek, former GP, radio host and professional hockey player.

This event is specifically aimed at physicians active in organ transplantation, patient organizations, trade associations in medicine, health insurers, Dutch policy makers and journalists.
