Public release of the Call for actionable steps in response to the rising threat of Antimicrobial Resistance

Hosted by the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform, this event aims to present the key recommendations of actionable steps to be considered by UN Member States in their negotiations of the outcome document of the 2024 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on AMR (UNGA HLM on AMR) taking place on 26 September in New York.
Embodying a multi-sectoral One Health approach to tackle AMR, this document is a result of a collaborative work of members of the Action Group on the 2024 UNGA HLM on AMR of the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform. The recommendations will be shared with UN Member States, co-facilitators, and a wide range of stakeholders involved in the global efforts to turn the tide on AMR.
The event will feature the participation of both co-facilitators of the UNGA HLM process – H.E. Mr. François Jackman, Permanent Representative of Barbados to the United Nations and H.E. Vanessa Frazier, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Malta to the United Nations. It will serve as an opportunity to brief stakeholders on the upcoming multi-stakeholder hearings taking place on 15 May in New York.
